Dugan's Pub
Location: Market Square
Phone: (910) 295-3400
If you are staying and
playing in the Village of Pinehurst, Dugan's Pub is a
convenient place to grub up. Just like some of the area golf
courses, Dugan's Pub has two totally different sides. Upstairs
is the restaurant where formal dining reigns supreme.
Downstairs is a good old-fashioned dive bar of sorts, one
where you might expect a donnybrook to break out at any
minute. Dugan's Pub sets up nice for the man trying to please
himself and his better half. After an early morning round, you
can head downstairs, quaff a pint of ale, and try one of the
best burgers in the Sandhills. Slide back into your golf villa
and ask the wife out for a nice dinner upstairs. Hoodwink the
barkeep as you walk by and join the motley crew downstairs
later that night for darts.
The Pinecrest Inn
Located: Dogwood Road
Phone: (910) 295-6121
Simply put, you must eat here.
Lots of golfers stay here, but more of them eat here.
Breakfast is the specialty, with eggs, fruit, waffles,
pancakes and the like. For dinner, the Pinecrest breaks out a
couple of formal dinning rooms that can hang with the best in
the area. The supper fare is upscale, including button
mushroom appetizers, rack of lamb, prime rib and filet mignon.
If you are in town alone, the bar is an excellent place to
meet like souls and enjoy a pint or two.
Ironwood
Located: 2176 Midland
Road, Southern Pines, N.C.

From the owner:
I simply describe our
restaurant as casual fine dining. Casual attire is fine. For
your special occasions our menu has creative dishes and great
steaks or for just a casual meal we offer light bites that are
quick and easy. The Ironwood is also children friendly
featuring a 5 item kids menu.
Our "welcome to our home" attitude is our benchmark. Friendly,
courteous, not pretentious service will make our guests feel
at home. The only difference at the end of the meal is you
will receive a bill. The Ironwood now has 10 entrees priced
under $20 so the bill could be very affordable.
All of our food is house-made and very tasty. We serve aged
Certified Angus Beef, Chops, Fresh Fish, Chicken, Pizzas and
Sandwiches. We have received many compliments on all of our
dishes during the short time we have owned the Ironwood.
Our signature Steaks are corn-fed for flavor, aged a minimum
of six weeks for tenderness, hand cut by myself then cooked to
your liking by our experienced chefs. Stop in and try our
Potato Crusted Sea Bass, Stuffed Pork Chop, Lump Crab Cakes or
our Cafe Burger made from ground top sirloin.
Bottom Line: The Ironwood is a great place to dine for all
occasions. Sit on the patio under the Magnolia tree and enjoy
the water fountain with flames. Or dine inside and be a part
of the synergy created by our open kitchen and energetic
staff. |
